BirchBox + March Giveaway (Expired)

wp-monalisa icon Morning girls!

<mini rant>
Ughhh~ Did you guys see that Google Reader is retiring?? WTF! I’m so sad and angry at the same time. Google Reader was my primary source and it was so convient because I’m always on my gmail. It looks like I will be switching over to bloglovin’ now. What do you guys normally use to follow other blogs? Please let me know as I am very interested in finding the *best* new way to keep up with all of your blogs that I follow!!
</end rant>

It’s that time again for my monthly BirchBox Mini-Giveaway Series blog post. If you don’t know what I’m talking about or you missed out on last months post, you can find out more about this ongoing series here.

Let’s have a closer look at all of the products that came in Januarys’s BirchBox!!

This was my second BirchBox that I’ve ever received. I was a little bit disappointed by this particular box. I felt like there wasn’t really that much in the box that caught my heart.

Also at the same time, I sort of felt bad that my mini-giveaway for this month might not be worth too much to you guys. So I decided to only keep one item for myself and give the rest away.

The box came with this interesting poster print that you see above. It shows the “best products of the year.” On the back side, there’s also an interesting collection of goals that you can use for 2013. I thought it was an interesting read overall.

Anyways, onto the products!

Kérastase Elixir Ultime (Full-size $54)
Add this nourishing oil to your hair regimen to hydrate, smooth, and sleekify your strands.

I always like hair products to make your ends look and feel healthier. Just run this through the ends of your hair to make it smoother. Currently I have about half a dozen of hair products that do just this. I’m planning on writing a review for all of them coming up sometime next month. This particular product won’t be on my list since I’m giving this one away, but I’m sure that this product will do a great job.

Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique – Protect (Full-size $42)
Work this leave-in cream through towel-dried hair to repair damage from chemical processing and protect strands from heat styling.

If you don’t know Kérastase, it is l’Oréal’s high end hair product line. It’s supposed to be comparable to other well known hair products and has received good reviews. I think my company did some advertising for them too, lol. Btw, leave-in creams are the best! I don’t think my hair can live without it… especially since its been over dyed.

DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer (Full-size $85)
This high-tech moisturizing serum fills in pores and wrinkles for instantly smoother skin, while peptides and vitamins provide long-term anti-aging benefits.

Eek, so I actually wanted so much to keep this product to try for myself. But I decided to part from it and let you guys have a go. Lol, a big part of why I wanted to keep it was because the full size is so expensive! I figured, it must be good some how? Also, I’ve been writing a lot this week about pores.. But maybe it’s a good product to giveaway then to keep going with all of my pore related posts.

theBalm cosmetics Hot Mama (Full-size $20)
How cute is this two-in-one blush and highlighter? The universally flattering pigment is laced with golden shimmer to warm up your complexion.

This product is quite nice. The packaging is kinda cute too. It’s cheap and reminds me of candy for some reason. I’m not sure how this would be used as a highlighter because it’s a little dark in my opinion for highlighting. But it does make for really cute blush color! I love it, but yea~ It’s a little bit small for a sample wp-monalisa icon This is the product that I decided to keep for myself because I accidentally swatched it  on myself right when I saw it, haha.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy (Full-size $25-90)
Juicy’s charming scent will bring out your inner girly girl. Wild berries flirt with mandarin and soft floral notes for a fragrance that’s fun and happy.

I’m sorry, I sprayed this perfume sample so that I could smell it. It smells really nice and fruity! Quite enjoyable. My boyfriend bought me perfume for valentines day though, so I have to wear the scent that he gave me wp-monalisa icon I’m sure that one of you will really enjoy this scent though! I love these little perfume samples because they are AWESOME for on the go and keeping in your purse!!

  1. This whole Google reader situation has me all confused! Does that mean my ‘reading list’ wont show up in blogger anymore?
    GFC is the only thing I use to follow people!! :/

    On another note great post. You go to so much effort and detail. It makes me wish that I could a) afford one of these services and b) be able to find one that is completely cruelty free! haha so I could share mine too!

    1. honestly im not really sure how it will work until it happens :C
      i’m soooo sad that they are getting rid of google reader!!
      i think this is all part of google’s attempt to push all of their efforts towards promoting google+

      ahh and thanks so much for your sweet comments! i aim to provide very detailed and thorough posts ^^
      ooOo and a cruelty free program would be awesome!! sadly, i feel like there aren’t enough cruelty free brands out there to support that though~

  12. Aw man, I totally know how you feel about that! Whyyyy Google Reader, why!? I used Bloglovin’ but I just got lazy and didn’t like having to sign onto another site!

    Anyway, awesome giveaway! 🙂 I’d have to say my fashion style is really the denim on denim look. I think if styled nicely, it looks great! Perfect for transitioning to warmer weathers.

    1. ooOoo you are a risky girl!! loll. im too scared to ever do denim on denim!! i do think that it looks awesome if it’s done right though! i applaude you!

  13. I never really used Google Reader — so I don’t have much to switch over. I’ve been just starting to use BlogLovin’ though, and I LOVE IT. it’s so easy on my phone!

    I actually use that Juicy perfume — Couture Couture is my favorite, but I just ran out and I’m depressed that I have to use something else until I can get to the store for more!

    1. i’ve officially switched over all of my blogs to bloglovin’ and have for the first time, gotten to know how to use the site. its actually quite nice and convenient! i’m really finding great things about it that i love a lot. i haven’t checked it out on my phone yet though, but im sure it’s amazing too!
